My name is John Abshire and I am new to this (just found it today) and I would like to get involved in any way possible. I am currently in school for Simulation and Game Development and my background before that is working as a contractor for the US Military. Currently what I am able to bring to the table is simple yet very useful, I have a team of experts who have served in combat with the Marines, Army, Navy, and Air Force, our team does research and our goal was to try and get into the video game industry as military/research consultants. We have experience working on mods for historical time peroids, and we have plenty of documentation for things pertaining to the modern setting. We are professional and not rookie when it comes to this style of work. We can provide research that will include unclassified data, pictures, intel, maps, ORBATs, Unit SOPs, TO and Es, training, doctrine, ect. We are truly experts in our feild and we love the work that we do. Most of us are in college right now for Military History, Military Science, and me for Simulation and Game Devlopment so this is more of a hobby for us honestly. If there is a need for a group like us, we would love to get involved and help out in any way possible, this project is exactly what we have wanted out of a video game and I truly belive the only way a game like this can be developed is "grass roots" style beacuse no "big name" producer will want to touch anything that dosent have "Call of Duty" in the title...and we are all better than that.
So let me know, and as I learn things like programming, modelings, sound, level design...ect...I will keep adding to my abilities to help with the project and of course I will try and recruit people from my college to help as well.
With respect,
John Abshire |

This project needs effort in all the areas you describe, so anything you can do to help would be appreciated. If it helps you in your studies, then even better.
The activity level here seems fairly low at the moment. In my case, I just don't the time to spend on CSP. Probably true for others as well.
There's a lot of code to explore here though, so it's a case of diving in.... |

hi john, welcome on board, everyone is welcome!
as mike said, every part can be improved. all infos are in the forum and the wiki. if you have any questions just ask.
it is a hobby for all of us and real life has the higher priority. if you want to get into the gaming industry you are at a good place, because you can show something what you did, thanks to open source. |
